We were in the area for 2 nights in the first week of April, 2025. When we searched for hotels, we realized that most places that have good reviews are quite expensive. There are only a few exceptions and Pacific Gardens Inn is one of them. So we decided to stay here. We were not disappointed. The location is nice---this is a 5-minute walk from the Asilomer Beach and close to downtown Pacific Grove, groceries, Monterey Bay Aquarium etc. There is plenty of parking. The room is pretty good and spacious, staff members are very nice, the outdoor hot pool is great, and the breakfast is decent. Overall, we were quite happy with our stay. Would gladly stay there again.

We only stayed one night. We will be back. Nice vibe. Very relaxing area. It was nice seeing the dogs that were around made me miss mine. They are dog friendly. The breakfast was good. Pretty much status quo for a continental breakfast though.

We had a great stay in the one bedroom suite. The pull out couch is comfortable. The bedroom bed is a queen. It has a fireplace and a carport for the car. Laundry was next door for $1,50 wash and $1 dry. Quarters available in lobby. They provide tide pods. It has a kitchen with full size fridge and freezer, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, popcorn popper, electric can open, stove, oven, stove kettle, dishes, salt and pepper. Our housekeeper did the dishes each day. Breakfast is hard boiled eggs, scones, bagels, muffins, apples, bananas, waffles, tea, and coffee. Happy hour wine is provided 5-7pm. The owner is on-site. The staff is great! You can walk to the beach. There is a fish restaurant to walk to. I saw deer along my walk. There are two hot tubs. Property is quiet. I recommend staying here. We met guests who are repeat visitors.

Excellent room very spacious with a wood fireplace. Staff were very friendly. We drove up from the wharf so kind of difficult to find without directions or Google maps. Only 1 restaurant close by. Gorgeous sunset

Wonderful hotel located just steps away from walkways and pathways that run along the ocean. Rooms are large and well-appointed. Staff is always warm and welcoming. Wine hour from 5-7 p.m. is a treat, and the 7:30 a.m. breakfast spread is delightful. Love this hotel!!

This is not a five star hotel and the reviews here noting it's age and narrow stairs - good grief. It does not advertise itself as a new motel with all the bells and whistles. If they upgraded, it would cost 400/night or more. So please rate it as you should: great people, great location, accommodating staff, comfy beds, clean bathrooms, FIREPLACES!, with wood!, breakfast, happy hour, pet-friendly, ice machine, AFFORDABLE and so on. Walking distance to a beautiful coastline and DT Pacific Grove. Just lovely.
